      This position is responsible for the providing in-house legal advice across Covid-19 Quarantine VIC and to the Minister for Police and Emergency Services.This overall team leads the delivery of legal services on administrative, human rights and other public law issues. The successful candidate will lead the Public law work in the Office, including supervising junior lawyers, and managing the public law workload and key legal relationships with other departments and external lawyers. Key responsibilities: Provide solutions-based legal and policy advice on issues relevant to the government, relevant minister and CQV, both individually and through leadership and management junior solicitors.Independently manage multiple complex and sensitive matters.Undertake legal research and analysis on complex legal matters with outstanding commercial and drafting skills.Manage the preparation of legal documentation and the drafting of complex reports, briefs and Ministerial and other correspondence as required.Support and work collaboratively, including managing workload and resource allocation.Develop close, effective, and candid relationships with other groups as well as other departments, agencies, and stakeholders.Contribute to a positive work environment which promotes a partnership approach to people management, enhances morale and respects diversity, including leading, managing, and mentoring a team of solicitors.To be successful in this role, you must: Technical legal skills with the ability to analyse complex legal issues, interpret legislation and develop accurate legal solutions with minimal supervision.Experience providing legal advice at a senior legal level in relation to administrative, human rights and other public law matters.Experience in, or knowledge of, Victorian Government and Cabinet processes.If you wish to apply: Please email an updated CV to daniela.dragovic@randstad.com.au, or click 'APPLY NOW'.
