Join a market leader in the waste management industry.Business has been around for more than 50 years.Great opportunity for a General Manager looking after 250 staff. About the employer:The company is an established waste management group with over 50 years experience, employing over 1000 people across Australia and their international footprint. About the position:Our client is looking for a General Manager with preferably experience within the recycling & waste management sector. You will have 2 Direct reports with the full responsibility of 250 people. You will be responsible to drive results across Production, Sales, Crushing, Landfill and Maintenance. The business has a solid career growth plan in place and will give the opportunity to work with the latest machinery and technology. Key duties:Oversee day-to-day operationsDesign strategy and set goals for growthMaintain budgets and optimize expensesSet policies and processesEnsure employees work productively and develop professionallyOversee recruitment and training of new employeesEvaluate and improve operations and financial performanceDirect the employee assessment processPrepare regular reports for upper managementEnsure staff follows health and safety regulationsProvide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors)Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and licensesMaintain operational records and databases that capture resources, production volumes and forecastsMonitor operational performance and make system improvements with a focus on increasing production rates Key competencies:Guiding the teams successPlanning and OrganisingCustomer OrientationInnovationFacilitating ChangesBusiness AcumenDelegating and EmpoweringGaining Commitment Qualification & Experience:Relevant Qualification in Engineering or Business managementPreferably 5 + years of experience in waste management & recycling industryMin 5 years of management experience Salary & Work Rights:$180,000 - $220,000 (Package) + Bonus StructureOnly candidates with full work rights will be considered for the position How to apply:Please apply online with a detailed CV.
