The roleReporting to the Manager Capital works the Coordinator Civil Infrastructure Projects will provide high level planning and analytical skills to enable delivery of quality services to the Monash community. This position is responsible for leading and managing a team of Civil Project Managers and Construction Supervisors. The Coordinator Civil Infrastructure Projects will be responsible for the following: Programming & managing the portfolio of assigned capital works projects & programsReview & approve the preparation of tender documentation such as collation of engineering plans, specifications and project documentationFinancial management of Projects and Policy developmentPlanning & directing the delivery of road and pathway renewal programs across the City of Monash Certification of subdivisions and major private developments. What you will need to be successfulWe are seeking an experienced Civil Engineer who possesses a strong knowledge of planning and delivering Civil Infrastructure projects & programs from early planning through construction and handover and finalisation stages. You will be someone with experience leading and managing a team of professionals to plan and deliver current and long term civil infrastructure programs and projects, prioritising and co-ordinating day-to-day activities and specific projects following recognised project management principles. Knowledge of the requirements of civil infrastructure projects including: Acts, Codes and Regulations, Australian Standards relating to Civil Infrastructure construction projects Experience in forward planning, management & delivery of Civil Infrastructure works and Capital Works programs.An ability to understand and interpret building, civil engineering and landscape drawings and documentationSignificant working knowledge interpreting and implementing the requirements of the Road Management Act as related to Worksite Safety Traffic Management delivering projects at road construction and maintenance sitesDeep knowledge of construction site OH&S requirements within a municipal or similar environmentContract Management – Significant working knowledge managing, negotiating and delivering civil infrastructure construction contractsKnowledge of budgeting is required to manage and report on the portfolio of projects & programs and ongoing maintenance budgets as well as preparing cost estimatesA Tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent with substantial & diverse experience in the Civil Infrastructure field and Contract Management experience is required.
