    Exciting opportunity for a Project Manager seeking a new opportunity. We are currently seeking a Project Manager for a local SA council, based in the Southern suburbs of Adelaide. This is a 3 year fix-term contract role.Position Objectives: Responsible for the effective scoping, design, procurement and delivery of civil infrastructure projects including, roads, storm-water, street and landscaping, structures, environmental projects and building projects as required.Key Responsibilities: Project manage or provide professional input for the delivery of nominated infrastructure and building projects and programs. Ensure a consistent approach for the design and construction of civil infrastructure and buildings that is fit for purpose and value for money. Provide engineering and other technical advice to other sections of the organisation to assist in the delivery of projects/programs. Review and/or provide input into designs for the construction of civil infrastructure such as roads, storm-water, waste-water and traffic management measures including buildings as required. Perform the role of Contract Superintendent on nominated civil infrastructure projects including road, storm-water, footpath and building projects. Coordinate procurement, community engagement and consultation for relevant projects in accordance with Council’s policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with WHS Regulations in respect of all projects managed including Council and Contractor activities. Foster positive working relationships and effective communication based on a model of partnership, respect and success. Ensure services provided are customer-focused, timely and of a consistently appropriate standard.Promote a positive corporate image of the Council and provide a high level of customer service in all dealings with the community.Required Skills & Knowledge:Solid knowledge of civil engineering design and construction techniques including but not limited to: o building construction o storm-water infrastructure, o road, o footpath, and o traffic management. Possesses project management skills that show a history of delivering projects on time, on budget and within scope in accordance with standard project management processes such as PIMBOK or Prince2. Demonstrated high level reporting skills. Well developed financial management skills. Sound knowledge of civil infrastructure construction methodologies. High level contractor and consultant management skills. Sound use of computer software including Word, Excel and Microsoft Project. High level communication and negotiation skills. Effective analytic and interpretive skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a team.Sound ability to determine priorities and work autonomously ⮚ High level risk identification and problem solving skills. Required Experience & Qualifications: Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or equivalent and/or considerable experience in project management, design and delivery of infrastructure projects Diploma in Project Management Substantial experience in the project management of building projects and/or infrastructure projects. Considerable experience in the management of contractors and consultants inclusive of progress and variation payment claim assessment. Considerable experience in project budget preparation and management. Experience in civil infrastructure design and construction desirable. Experience in asset management practices desirable.
