      Based on the north shore, a local council has an exciting opportunity for Sustainability Officer to join their Environment & Sustainability team. As the Sustainability Officer, you will deliver key actions and projects from Council’s energy management and sustainable buildings strategy. You will ensure continuous improvement in asset performance and delivery of Council sustainability objectives.       Road Designer A fantastic opportunity has arisen for Road Designer to work for a large council in New South Wales. Based in Western Sydney, you would be joining a professional and supportive team who work together to contribute to the provision of safe, effective and efficient Road Design to the community, and to develop and maintain Council’s contacts with the community, government authorities and other clients of Council.The roleAs a Road Designer, you will be responsible for:Survey, investigate, prepare and review design plans, estimates and alternate options for a variety of civil engineering projects including road, kerb and gutter, footpath, stormwater drainage, traffic facilities and carparks.Negotiate and attend meetings with public utility authorities, government authorities, private organisations, property owners, community groups and others regarding a wide range of design activities.Ensure that designs are consistent and are completed in accordance with professional engineering standards and where applicable to the requirements of other government authorities such as the RTA, Environmental Protection Authority and the Department of Conservation and Land Management.Investigate and report on need for legal actions within the terms of delegation for non-compliance with Council’s requirements.Liaise with contractors, prepare and administer contracts with consultants to ensure that all briefs, works and designs are carried out on time.Prepare briefs for Environmental Impact Statements as required to conform with Government Standards.The PersonTo be successful in this position you have a significant experience in the survey, investigation and design including estimates for roads, traffic facilities, stormwater drainage and other civil engineering projects.
