Currently, there are two roles available with the team who are responsible for maintaining and protect infrastructure assets. PO3 Contractor - EngineerProject manage site investigations and the delivery of road infrastructure projects.Provide technical advice within your area of responsibility to ensure that technical and safety standards and specifications are achieved.Assist in the selection of the most suitable contract process for project delivery.Assist in the development of engineering policies, practices and standards.Undertake technical reviews of designs, considering relevant technical standards of reference in the Public Transport Infrastructure Manual (for areas such as traffic engineering, road safety, accessibility standards, structures, drainage, lighting, pavements).Identify possible problem areas and negotiate modifications or adaptations to the design briefs where necessary to achieve acceptanceApply project management techniques and assist in managing projects, such as for construction and maintenance projects including:Budgeting, programming, monitoring expenditure, controlling and reviewing priorities.Managing project team resources to ensure delivery within budget and time constraints.Preparing estimates and tenders for commercial contracts.Procurement activities of road making materials and project services.Other project assistance where required to support the Project Manager in carrying out various duties. PO2 Contractor - Engineer Provide technical advice within your area of responsibility to ensure that technical and safety standards and specifications are achievedAssist in the development of engineering policies, practices and standards.Conduct site investigations.Undertake technical reviews of designs, considering relevant technical standards of reference in the Public Transport Infrastructure Manual (for areas such as traffic engineering, road safety, accessibility standards, structures, drainage, lighting, pavements)Prepare written reports and submissions as require taking into consideration intended audience, which may include non-technical stakeholders.Apply project management techniques and assist in managing maintenance projects including:Budgeting, programming, monitoring expenditure controlling and reviewing priorities.Managing project team resources to ensure delivery within budget and time constraintsOther project assistance where required to support the Project Manager in carrying out various duties. Skills & Experience:Tertiary qualification in EngineeringOpen class C driver’s licenceConstruction White Card It is expected that the successful candidate will possess strong oral/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. They will display initiative, attention to detail, and have the ability to work autonomously and unsupervised whilst contributing to the wider team's objectives.
