      Client:An iconic company, with a global outreach and an abundant history in creating engineered automation solutions. As a result of continued growth, they are now looking for an experienced Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. Role:The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the mechanical engineering teamin delivering technical, project-specific design packages and generating a complete set of client and manufacturing documentation. They will cooperate with a team of project managers, engineers and designers as well as oversee manufacturing and supply of the product to the customer. Other responsibilities include: Assisting the Mechanical Engineering team to coordinate supply activities to ensure that a compliant project design is fully tested, documented and delivered on time. To work with other engineers and internal company personnel to define product design specifications, develop conceptual and final design solutions, manage and coordinate project specific design and supply activities, support existing product offerings, and perform testing/analysis of new and existing products. Perform mechanical/structural CAD design and drafting, as well as deliver design and assembly drawings Action and manage sourcing of BOM components and assemblies using ERP system. Ensuring the engineering design of projects is in accordance with local standards, statutory requirements, technical specifications etc. The product management of the standard Docking and Mooring product portfolio. Lead the creation of novel designs to interface with and upgrade legacy equipment. Provide technical support to warranty and after-sales activities. The day to day management and development of the Mechanical Engineering team, and the delivery of projects within the mechanical engineering discipline. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. 10+ years working experience in a mechanical design environment with a Design House, Contractor or Vendor.Experience in CAD modelling skills, 2D and 3D CAD (Solidworks and AutoCAD or Equivalent) Experience working with ISO9001 or Equivalent quality system and knowledge of MathCAD is desirable.Positive, energetic and self-motivatedStrong communication & interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with a diverse group of stakeholders What’s on offer: Being a large global company, there is opportunity to explore different development routes, benefits and a divergent and multifaceted approach to work life.
