Our partnering department is looking for someone enthusiastic and not afraid of a challenge whilst making a positive difference in Victoria.About your new roleThe Senior Policy Officer, Aboriginal Programs, will provide strategic support to the Manager, Aboriginal Programs contributing to the design and delivery of key initiatives. The role will engage with both the Aboriginal community, state sport and recreation organisations and work across government agencies to increase access and maximiseopportunities for Aboriginal Victorians to participate in sport and active recreation..What you will need to exceedProvide high-quality strategy and policy development advice on Victorian sport and active recreation initiatives to increase Aboriginal participation.Provide authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders and prepare and present detailed reports, complex ministerial briefs, ministerial correspondence and event briefs, cabinet and agency submissions on complex matters and communicate issues and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.Project manage and participate in project teams responsible for developing, implementing, and effectively delivering sport and active recreation policy initiatives and programs that increase opportunities for Aboriginal Victorians to participate in sport and active recreation.Initiate, build and maintain strong and effective relationships with the sport and active recreation sector,Victorian Aboriginal Community – including Aboriginal organisations and internal government departments to support the delivery of agreed programs and projects.Prepare and communicate public policy options and recommendations.Monitors a broad range of contemporary issues and reviews the relevance and implications for policyDevelopment and program delivery Liaises with key stakeholders.Important InformationWe are seeking applications from candidates who can demonstrate considerable experience working with Aboriginal people and communities.Next stepsIf you are currently searching for current opportunities, please email your most up to date CV to Patrick.Conlon@randstad.com.au, and I will endeavour to reach out to you.At Randstad, we are passionate about providing equal employment opportunities and embracing diversity to the benefit of all.
