        The APS6 Internal Review Officer position is a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves team leadership and management responsibilities requiring the setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team.The position has reasonable autonomy and accountability to exercise both initiative and judgment to interpret legislation and policy, in the application of practices and procedures to achieve outcomes within the functions.Key responsibilites: Working closely with prospective participants and participants to understand the nature and context of their request for a decision to be reviewed.Making evidence-based review decisions in line with organisational frameworks, as prescribed in the Act, rules, Operational Guidelines and policies.Communicating effectively with participants and their representatives to explain reasons for decisions, the review and appeals process and available options.Monitoring and managing caseloads and ensuring internal reviews are completed within a timely manner.Collaborating with team members to share and develop specialised knowledge in areas of expertise.Contributing to quality improvement activities to enhance service delivery practice, processes and systems.To be successful in the role, you must: In-depth knowledge of relevant statutory, regulatory and policy frameworks in order to provide objective advice and resolve problems of a specialised or complex nature.Accountable for developing plans and objectives for short-term tasks and contributing to strategic planning for longer-term initiatives.Qualifications, or previous experience, within Legal, Arts, Insurance or Quality Assurance, is desirable.         The APS6 Risk Officer role is accountable under limited direction to undertake complex work that is guided by legislation, policies, procedures, standards, methodologies and precedents. The role is a team membership position that may be required to perform work that involves setting of priorities and managing workflows of a team.The position will provide technical, professional, policy, operational support and advice in relation to complex problems. It may be required to coordinate and assist in the strategic planning, program and project management and policy development that support the organisations overall scheme.Key responsibilites: Developing and implementing mitigation strategies in conjunction with business representatives by evaluating business initiatives and projects.Drafting and providing information to maintain risk policies, plans, frameworks and guidelines to provide awareness on risk management best practices.Preparing and reviewing a range of written material including reports and corporate documentation.Assisting in monitoring KRI’s, risk appetite and tolerance, and assisting with the implementation of corrective action plans to mitigate risks.Maintaining accurate risk and compliance data/registers within the Agency Risk Management System.Identifying and extracting risk and mitigation data to enhance insight into business activity.Collaborating with stakeholders to develop comprehensive risk profiles for projects and work streams.Managing relationships with delegated Business portfolio, providing advice and communicating key issues and areas of risk to relevant stakeholders.To be successful in this role, you must:Previous experience in similar Risk, OHS or Compliance positions.Undertake releveant Baseline Security Clearances, ahead of starting.
