Your new role The Asset Analyst is a critical member of the Asset Accounting Team, providing asset accounting advice to key stakeholders and coordinates a number of monthly and annual asset processes such as the monthly fixed asset movement schedule and annual asset confirmation process. The role contributes to the fixed asset schedules that form part of the department’s annual financial statements and ensure the integrity of the fixed asset register. Provide advice and guidance on asset accounting issues to the department (divisions, finance), small entities and portfolio entities, and advice on department policy for accounting for land, roads, structures, plant and equipment. Contribute to managing the integrity of the fixed asset register and identify business improvement opportunities to improve systems, processes and practices. Your new role The Asset Analyst is a critical member of the Asset Accounting Team, providing asset accounting advice to key stakeholders and coordinates a number of monthly and annual asset processes such as the monthly fixed asset movement schedule and annual asset confirmation process. The role contributes to the fixed asset schedules that form part of the department’s annual financial statements and ensure the integrity of the fixed asset register. Provide advice and guidance on asset accounting issues to the department (divisions, finance), small entities and portfolio entities, and advice on department policy for accounting for land, roads, structures, plant and equipment. Contribute to managing the integrity of the fixed asset register and identify business improvement opportunities to improve systems, processes and practices. Contribute to the department’s annual financial statements by preparing accurate and timely fixed asset schedules. Complete monthly account reconciliation (including the movement reconciliation) and reconciliation to the various asset management databases (Landfolio, Asset Management System) to the fixed asset register. Coordinate the assessment and processing of land transactions, construction in progress, depreciation, useful lives of assets and impairment reviews. Contribute to the asset valuation processes, including the annual assessment of the movement in asset values, asset recognition valuation, interim valuations, and the 5 yearly independent valuation. Engage the Valuer General and ensure valuation are reasonable and timely. Contribute to a number of finance projects which include the department’s accounting for service concession arrangements, Crown land and right of use leases and other continuous improvement projects.
