      The role: This reputable Civil contractor is an industry leader on delivering Pavements and Asphalt works across NSW. They are now growing their capability in Earthworks and would like an experienced Supervisor to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a company who rewards effort, looks after employees and has a very low turnover rate. The work will be Monday - Friday with some staying away from home but for only a short period of time with the added bonus of flexibility in incorporating local projects close to home. You will be supervising and managing a self-performing team and subcontractors, collaborating with project engineers/managers, civil disciplines and other project stakeholders; planning, calculating and monitoring daily cost of resources and working to target budgets whilst leading a culture of safety and productivity.Duties include: Supervise and coordinate site works, including staff, subcontractors, plant and materialsParticipate in the planning, pricing and management of the construction programme.Ensure effective application of systems, procedures and plans including quality.Supervise works delivered by in-house crews and specialist contractors. Ensure compliance with legislative and the Integrated Management Plan, across Safety, Quality and Environmental matters in all areas of the operationsSkills and experience: Proven commitment to leading safety, quality and environmental compliance on siteWork closely with the division manager to ensure projects are set up for success from the start.Proven experience as a Supervisor working on Earthworks and Pavement projects to RMS specifications Apply construction experience to improve construction methods and adopt methods and approaches to ensure the job gets done safely and efficientlyGood on-site problem solving expertise.A sound understanding of civil construction methodologies and standardsStrong management capabilities with the ability to lead from the front (both subcontractors and self-perform staff)Ideally you will have an appropriate trade certificate (or equivalent).
