      Associate Director and Senior Investigator - High profile caseLitigation, Sydney This role involves conducting and leading competition analysis, investigations and litigationin relation to anti-competitive conduct, with a focus on conduct involving the financial services sector and will include:Working with a Director to assist in the management of a criminal cartel prosecution and competition law investigations in the financial services sector;Managing a team of investigators, legal advisers, economists and other specialist responsible for providing management, strategic and technical input into competition cases and matters allocated;Collecting, collating and analysing information from disparate sources, and exercising judgement to identify the best sources of such information specifically for competition law criminal proceedings;Monitoring and managing budgets and records of financial expenditure in relation to investigations and projects;Undertaking or supervising research and analysis into specific issues necessary for the management of criminal prosecutions under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010;Preparing (and/or reviewing as appropriate) internal and external documents including staff papers, correspondence, minutes, briefs, media releases, reports, notices and undertakings;Liaising with internal and external stakeholders (such as legal and/or economic advisers, the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions and witnesses);Preparing reports and recommendations for consideration by senior management;Supervising and developing staff and contributing to the broader work of the Financial Services Competition Branch.QualificationsAstrong and demonstrated understanding of the competition provisions of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 and other relevant legislation.Tertiary qualifications in economics, law or similar fields.Experience leading and managing investigations and/or litigation into complex matters and/or competition law issues, in accordance with developed plans and ensuring investigations are undertaken with established investigative principles.Demonstrated ability to undertake objective, systematic analysis to draw accurate conclusions, critically assess and support evidence-based decision making.Well-developed research and strong analytical skills, with demonstrated experience of overseeing the gathering of evidence, intelligence and research/analytical tasks in investigations.Strong written drafting skills and demonstrated experience in ensuring high quality documentation including staff papers, notices, correspondence, reports, minutes and briefs.Strong interpersonal and communication skills.Experience supervising and developing staff including by providing regular an appropriate feedback and direction, and identifying development needs and opportunities.Ability to develop and foster successful internal and external stakeholder relationships.Experience in complex and large litigation.
