Our aim is to be the gateway of choice to Australia and the world – connecting people, places and opportunity.About the OpportunityReporting to the GM Cargo and Commercial, this position is a key role in the development and delivery of the WSI cargo function. The primary objective of this position is to work with the Cargo team in the development of all operational and commercial aspects for the creation of the Cargo business. The role will require interactions with WSI personnel, departmental SME’s and the external market. Your role will be responsible for:Contemporary understanding and knowledge of strategies and dynamics within the cargo marketplace.Working knowledge and skills that contribute to cargo facility designs, limitations, challenges and opportunities. Experience and understanding of domestic and international cargo customer requirements including evolving trends/innovations. Ideally familiar with creating Cargo facilities from the ground up and through to operational commencement Understanding of Cargo technology and the potential future technologies to benefit WSI.Timely and accurate analysis of data, information and creation of financial and operational models that test commercial scenarios.Preparation of high quality modelling, plans, briefings, presentations and other materials ahead of time and as necessary to present strategic outcomes and recommendations by liaising with internal colleagues and external parties.Capable of assisting in the development of strategic approaches and associated documentation as a result of internal and external, including commercial partnership liaison.Engage in project management planning and program reporting as necessary with the aim to ensure alignment of processes, resourcing and broader team goals with overall strategy.About YouWe’d like to hear from you if you have the following:Previous cargo experience in Domestic/International aviation. Tertiary qualification in an aviation, commerce, business discipline or equivalent.Airline experience is desirable.Financial and operational acumen related to Cargo airport operationsSkilled at business case development and related commercial modelling.Demonstrate excellent project management skills that include interpretation and contribution to construction of facilities and coordination of multiple and concurrent supporting projects. Effective organisational skills including planning, aligning, and situational adaptability/change and ability to manage conflicting priorities. Strategic planning skills and experience, including demonstrated ability to develop project strategies and implementation plans, proposals, including writing well-reasoned and analysed papers.
