About the RoleMy client is looking for a hands-on inventory controller/ purchasing officer, managing relationships between purchasing, sales and logistics at a high traffic trade centre. Responsibilities include inventory control, ordering stock, cycle counting, shrinkage management and liaising with the building sector. You must have a good understanding of importing and exporting and have intermediate Excel Skills. Key areas of focus for the role includes:Placing orders Ensuring optimum levels of stock are available to meet sales and customer delivery requirementsReceipt of goodsReconcile invoices against purchase ordersEnsure all stock inventory transactions are completed in accordance with proceduresInvestigating discrepancies and completing invoice requirementsAssist with cycle counting and stocktakesProvide support for processing return inventoryProvide general administrative assistance to the team when requiredThe Successful Applicant will demonstrate the following skills and attributes:Experience in the hardware or timber sector is essential Tertiary qualifications relating to inventory control / purchasing would be highly regarded Ability to work within a high pressure multi tasking environment, meeting deadlines and have the ability to prioritise.Strong attention to detail, accuracy and a high standard of work.Exceptional computer literacy skills: Microsoft Word, Excel and strong written skills.Commitment to high quality work, confident, a positive attitude and prepared to do hands on workGreat attention to detail and willingness to learn.Experience dealing with direct imports from several countries in Asia, Europe and USA is critical.
