We work hand-in-hand with our customers to develop and deliver critical capabilities to support their mission now and into the future.The opportunityWe are seeking a qualified Senior Aerospace Engineer - Mechanical Systems to support the world class fleet of air combat and electronic attack aircraft, the F/A-18F Super Hornet and EA-18G Growler.As a contracting member of our Aerospace Engineering and Production Capability, you will provide technical leadership for sustaining safe, high tempo flight operations as part of the In-service sustainment program.The role is based in RAAF Base Amberley, QLD.As a Senior Aerospace Engineer you will:Be responsible for technical leadership of Continuing Airworthiness Management (Part M) engineering activities including design review, assessing engineering changes and engineering investigations, mechanical systems and weight and balance.Oversee and implement routine Aircraft Maintenance activities and provide recommendations for Australian Defence Force Configuration Role and Environment (CRE).Mentor a team of engineers and technical officers as the technical expert for a successful collaborative team development.Engage with team members, leaders and technical representatives including Air Force and United States Navy personnel.To be considered for this role you will hold: Tertiary Qualifications in a relevant Engineering field (Aerospace, Aeronautical or Mechanical).Have significant experience in aircraft mechanical systems troubleshooting, repairs or design including engineering support to in-service aircraft operations.Have held Engineering Delegation authority in mechanical systems or structures design.Demonstrated experience in technical leadership in a major project environment excellent communicator, people oriented and able to manage multiple tasks effectively while working to schedule commitments.NV1 security clearance required.
