The Role
Due to a strong pipeline of work, they are looking for an experienced Senior Estimator to join their established pre-contracts team. You will lead tenders from inception to submission for civil projects valued up to $80m.
What’s on offer:
- Full time permanent position.
- The location is just outside the CBD.
- $160-200k +Super.
What you’ll be doing:
- Prepare accurate, detailed cost estimates from first principles.
- Manage tenders concurrently across multiple civil sectors, ensuring submissions are competitive and compliant.
- Review project scopes, drawings, and specifications to identify risks and value-engineering opportunities.
- Engage with sub-contractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
- Present estimates and tender strategies to upper management during review meetings.
What we’re looking for:
- Experience: Minimum 10 years of civil estimating experience within the Australian market is essential.
- First Principles: Proven ability to estimate from first principles is a non-negotiable requirement.
- Project Scope: Demonstrated experience tendering for civil projects up to $80m.
- Sector Coverage: Solid track record across at least three of the following areas:
- Roads and highway upgrades
- Urban residential subdivisions
- Utilities and major infrastructure
- Renewables (wind/solar civil works)
- General civil construction
- Communication: Clear, direct communication skills with the ability to build rapport with internal teams and external stakeholders.
