      Flexible working arrangementsInitial contract with potential for permanencyFebruary commencement Our client is a South-East Queensland council who have a current vacancy for an Infrastructure Planning Engineer. In this role, you will be required to develop and implement infrastructure policies, strategies and plans that are aligned with the council’s plan. DutiesDevelop and implement infrastructure policies, strategies and plans that are aligned with the community's long- term vision, Council's Corporate Plan and Council's Asset Management Policy.Utilising contemporary spatial information systems and modelling tools, undertake comprehensive analyses, forecasting and reporting of the current and future demand for infrastructure in line with strategic land use planning initiatives, development activities, infrastructure modelling outputs and forecast population growth within the region.Lead and manage strategic projects to forecast, plan and program transport and/or stormwater/flood management infrastructure upgrades to support the formulation of the 10-year capital works plan and the long-term financial plan.Lead the efficient and effective provision of specialist strategic and tactical civil infrastructure planning advice relevant to land use planning, development and operational works assessments.Collaborate with Council's data analysts, strategic planning officers and development engineers and external consultants to ensure the validity and integrity of the Local Government Infrastructure Plan and flood management studies.Coordinate the review, development, implementation, performance monitoring and progress, reporting of the LGIP. Skills & ExperienceTertiary qualification in Civil EngineeringExtensive experience in transport and/or stormwater infrastructure planning and management.Demonstrated experience in scoping, managing and reviewing transport and/or flood modelling and mapping activities and outputs is well regarded.Highly developed written communication skills in the preparation of infrastructure planning documents including policies, strategies, guidelines, service agreements, reports and correspondence to internal and external stakeholders.Advanced interpersonal skills including the ability to provide accurate and efficient specialist infrastructure advice to internal and external stakeholders.High level knowledge of current and emerging issues and practices relating to infrastructure planning, particularly the development and implementationDemonstrated experience in developing and implementing civil infrastructure policies, strategies and plans.Demonstrated experience in utilising Geographic Information System (GIS) and contemporary modelling tools for transport and/or stormwater infrastructure planning purposes.Demonstrated experience in scoping, managing and reviewing transport and/or flood modelling and mapping activities and outputs is well regarded.
