    Randstad are proud to partner with a Government organisation who values diversity and provides support to the wider community.There is an immediate need for an AO6 Safety Manager, located in Brisbane's northern suburbs with an initial 6 month contract.The responsibility of the Safety Manager is primarily to engage with site teams to effectively and efficiently inform supervisors and business managers to ensure that WHS roles, responsibilities and expectations are understood by all. The successful candidate will:Exhibit strong policy knowledge to develop and review safety policies and procedures, work instructions, risk assessments and safe work method statements as required.Display high level of support to managers to carry out activities that foster a positive safety culture within management teams and nurture staff awareness of safety responsibilities and accountabilities.Collaborate with the relevant departments (including Health and Safety Unit) to achieve consistency of health and safety strategies, service delivery arrangements and performance outcomes.Maintain local health and safety consultative networks and evaluate policies and initiatives relevant to the role.Contribute to tactical interventions that address legislative compliance, detailed risk profiles and implement improved management systems. Demonstrate a high level of consultative, interpersonal, negotiation and teamwork skills across a large multi-disciplinary environment.Possess working ability to develop, implement and review of safety management systems and processes for work related activities which includes but is not limited to:Construction and maintenance work; High risk construction workPermit to Work processContractor inductions and managementRisk Assessments, Safe Work Method Statements and Safe Work ProceduresInduction, Instruction and Training Requirements of this role include: Relevant qualification in health and safety Knowledge and experience working in a construction and maintenance environment in a healthcare setting.It is expected that the successful candidate will possess strong oral/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
