      The organisation: Our client is a highly reputable and progressive not-for-profit organisation focussing on assisting Queensland-based communities, located on the south-side of Brisbane. Due to a recent acquisition, a newly created position has been made available for an experienced Financial Accountant for a 12 month contract, with the possibility for extension. About the role:Due to the nature of the acquisition, there is a need for a strong financial accountant to come on board to help implement and review IFRS related issues, including AASB-3 (business combinations) and AASB-16 (lease accounting). Your role will focus on consolidation accounting, ensuring entities are set up correctly and that they're performing fit-for-purpose, and to make recommendations where necessary. The role is will also include but not limited to: - Month-end processes- Leading external audit- General ledger reconciliations and- Journals for EOM financial reporting.About you:Ideally you will have two years post-qualification experience as a financial accountant, with a strong working knowledge of IFRS accounting issues and the ability to identify and dissect where needed. You will be able to work in a project-like environment, be adaptable and work well within a large performing finance team. You will be able to work autonomously, be accountable and deadline-driven. The must haves: - Bachelor qualification with either CA or CPA qualification- Experience across complex IFRS accounting issues- Strong analytic and problem solving skills- Technically savvy, including sound Excel skills- A high-level of commercial acumen, and can demonstrate professional curiosity.
