The Role:
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for profitably increasing sales within your designated territory. This involves developing customer sales, expanding product ranges, and pursuing new business opportunities, all while leveraging marketing programs and merchandising strategies to maximize brand potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage your territory to achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual budget objectives, ensuring adequate coverage and servicing to meet customer expectations.
Maintain and develop customer sales within your designated territory to maximize sales potential at profitable gross margin returns.
Maintain a regular call cycle for the existing customer base while continuously seeking new business opportunities.
Develop existing Key accounts by executing strategies to expand the brand's footprint within stores.
Present promotional activity to ensure growth in sales and shelf space increases at all customer outlets.
Continually research customer sales and product ranges to prepare proactive call initiatives.
Attend trade evenings and schedule regular in-store training programs with counter staff and end-users.
Introduce new products regularly, achieving quarterly objectives.
Accurately forecast annual, quarterly, and monthly revenue streams from your territory on a weekly basis.
Develop strategies to ensure cost-effective calls are completed.
Maintain travel expenses within provided guidelines.
Attend weekly and monthly Sales Meetings.
Complete daily call logs and follow information in CRM Systems.
Review strategic 90-day plans with your sales manager.
What's Expected:
You will be expected to abide by company values, demonstrate punctuality and reliability, and contribute to achieving company and key account gross profit levels. A focus on cost control and EBITDA achievement is important, along with upholding the company brand with integrity and professionalism. Responsiveness to change, individual accountability for results, and maintaining confidentiality are paramount. You will also need to be collaborative and open in working with all team members, responding to emails and phone calls promptly.
Skills and Experience:
At least 2 years of prior experience as a BDM or Sales Representative.
Excellent product knowledge.
