The Opportunity
Reporting to the Team Leader of Recruitment, you will join the Enabling Services Branch, a dedicated team that provides critical corporate support across the organisation. As the APS5 Recruitment Advisor, you will be instrumental in delivering comprehensive, end-to-end recruitment services that align with the organisation's strategic goals. You will act as a key partner for hiring managers, ensuring recruitment processes are efficient, compliant, and attract the best candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full 360-degree recruitment lifecycle for both ongoing and non-ongoing positions.
- Act as a trusted advisor to selection panels and hiring managers on recruitment policy, best practice, and legislative requirements (including the Public Service Act 1999).
- Develop and execute effective candidate attraction strategies, including crafting and placing compelling advertisements on platforms like APSjobs and social media.
- Collaborate on the creation of position descriptions and advise on role classifications and organisational structure.
- Oversee the seamless onboarding of new employees, from data entry in the Aurion recruitment system to preparing employment offers and managing records in TRIM.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within a customer-focused HR service environment.
To Be Successful in This Role, You Will Have:
- Demonstrated experience in contemporary, end-to-end recruitment processes, ideally within a public sector context.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and provide expert advice to diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency with recruitment systems (experience with Aurion is highly advantageous) and the Microsoft Office suite.
- A strong understanding of relevant legislation, particularly the Public Service Act 1999 and the Fair Work Act 2009.
- A proactive, customer-centric approach focused on delivering timely and effective outcomes.
- A qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline is highly desirable.
