Senior Project Manager – Workday HCM | Melbourne | Hybrid
We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join on a 9-month contract (with potential extensions). This role offers the opportunity to lead the implementation of the Workday Advanced Compensation module and drive process simplification for job changes (promotions, transfers, secondments).
The Role
You will oversee the delivery of critical projects from kick-off through to hypercare, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard. The position requires strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to thrive in a complex, fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead project planning, scope, timelines, budget, and resource allocation.
Manage senior stakeholders including P&C leadership, Talent, Rem & Benefits, Technology, and People Systems teams.
Oversee vendor management, integrations, and cross-functional collaboration.
Provide transparent status reporting, highlight risks, and implement mitigation strategies.
Ensure smooth transition into production and provide hypercare support.
Champion process improvements and adoption across the business.
About You
Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager in HCM technology projects, ideally Workday.
Strong background in multi-country environments and large, complex organisations.
Skilled in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, risk management, and reporting.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including at executive level.
Able to juggle multiple projects with competing priorities.
Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is highly regarded.
