Key responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development, prioritisation and review of sector, operator and activity risk assessments, monitoring plans, tools and undertake duties in accordance with monitoring plans, audit methodologies, operator engagement plans, operational requirements, service standards, frameworks, policies, processes and procedures.
- Critically analyse qualitative and quantitative information, data, risks and intelligence to undertake a range of monitoring engagement and enforcement activities that accurately identify risks and controls under limited supervision, including audits, in-depth assessments, risk and control analysis, internal controls evaluations, assurance-related activities, interviews, enquiries, obligation and event-based tracking and assessment, contribution to complaints management, investigations, observations, inspections and the preparation of reports.
- Analyse financial and operational information and help produce reports and recommendations on relevant issues which are evidence based and provide a sound basis for decision making.
- Identify gaps, errors or anomalies and appropriately describe the impact, root cause and consequence of these gaps, errors or anomalies and assist in developing recommended actions to address these.
- Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of remediation activities, internal controls, as well as the work of other assurance providers activities to determine the extent of reliance and prepare clear advice and recommendations.
- Undertake appropriate and timely detection of breaches and regulatory risks, appropriate evidence gathering and progress effective remediation and enforcement action, consistent with the departments regulatory approach, posture, frameworks, policies, processes and procedures.
- Assess, identify and appropriately manage and escalate operational and regulatory issues and risks and service improvement opportunities.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise with sector industry participants to ensure they understand their legal obligations, social licence and expectations through the timely and accurate provision of information and effective communication.
- Undertake critical analysis and prepare high quality, timely, concise, insightful and clear advice, recommendations, reports, plans, briefing papers and correspondence on complex matters for a range of audiences and ensure complaint document management.
- Interpret and apply legislation and policy knowledge and contribute to team outcomes through developing a deep and contemporary knowledge and understanding of the relevant sector.
To be successful in this role you must:
- Previous experience within a Case Management, Compliance or Regulatory role
- Ability to undergo National Police Check
