The role
We are seeking to 2 skilled and qualified fibre cabling experts to assist with the global upgrade of legacy fibre infrastructure.
The successful candidate/s will be responsible for undertaking project planning, procurement activities, and upgrading fibre globally as required.
These Canberra-based roles support critical fibre infrastructure upgrades internationally, focusing on the installation, maintenance, and documentation of fibre optic cabling systems.
Requirements
- Fibre Cabling Installation & Maintenance: Perform installation and maintenance of fibre optic cabling systems, including interpreting technical drawings.
- Splicing, Testing & Certification: Conduct splicing, testing, and certification of fibre optic cables.
- Fault Finding: Utilise various fibre optic testing methods and network drawings to identify and resolve faults.
- Documentation: Complete handover documentation and capture job photos.
- Customer Service: Provide high-quality customer service and liaise with APS staff members.
- Time Management: Manage time effectively and work autonomously.
- Team Support: Assist APS Team Leaders and Project Managers as needed.
- Licenses & Certifications: Ensure all relevant licenses and certifications/endorsements are up to date.
- Compliance: Adhere to APS Codes of Conduct and APS Values.
- WHS Training: Complete or be willing to complete mandatory WHS training (including working with heights, confined spaces, etc.).
- Travel: Ability to travel internationally for a nominated period, sometimes at short notice.
- Cabling licence with Open Registration with Structured, Optical Fibre & Coaxial Endorsements, and Structured Cabling (Cat 5, 6 and Beyond – CPR Endorsement), Coaxial Cabling Endorsement, Optical Fibre Cabling (CPR Endorsement).
