This is a great opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to make a real impact on significant Defence and Government refurbishment and fitout projects in Darwin. Our client, a prominent national construction company, is seeking a dedicated individual to join their team today.
About The Role
- Effectively manage all on-site activities for commercial fitout projects.
- Champion the company's path towards perfect safety, ensuring a safe on-site working environment consistent with EHS&Q policies and procedures.
- Assist the Project Manager in completing the Project Safety and Environmental Plan.
- Assess all Subcontractor Safe Work Method Statements prior to their starting on site.
- Conduct daily site inductions and ensure all site personnel adhere to EHSQ Policies.
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractor and staff activities, managing the quality of their work.
- Prepare long and short-term programmes alongside the Project Manager.
- Manage furniture delivery and storage, ensuring appropriate protection.
- Maintain site amenities and facilities, including the site manager's manual and site office supplies.
- Hold weekly meetings with Clients, Architects, and Consultants, and liaise with building managers and tenants.
- Update project progress in Project Delivery System (Procore) and maintain a daily site diary.
- Ensure all defects are closed out prior to project handover.
- Mentor, manage, and coach Site Coordinators.
What You Will Need
- A building-related trade or tertiary qualification (not essential).
- Current Senior First Aid Certificate (can be provided if unattained).
- Current Construction Industry Card (White Card).
- At least 5 years of industry experience, including at least 2 years of site management experience within the commercial fitout industry.
- Experience working on projects $700k - $5M+.
- Experience in developing construction programmes.
- Solid experience in interpreting specifications and drawings for accuracy and buildability.
- Good understanding of MS applications: Word, Excel, & MS Project.
- Experience with Procore: Project Delivery System.
- Excellent understanding and proven dedication to EHSQ principles.
