We’re looking for an experienced and driven Senior SAP Basis Consultant to join our clients high performing team. In this role, you’ll take ownership of the technical landscape of SAP systems from installation and configuration to performance tuning and system upgrades. You’ll serve as a subject matter expert, ensuring system stability, security, and scalability while mentoring junior staff and engaging with stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- System Installation & Upgrades: Lead the planning and execution of SAP implementations and upgrades (ECC, HANA, S/4HANA), ensuring minimal business disruption.
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide advanced-level support and resolve complex SAP Basis issues, acting as the escalation point for technical challenges.
- Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor system health, identify performance bottlenecks, and apply tuning to optimise system efficiency.
- Security & Compliance: Manage user roles, authorisations, and security settings in alignment with compliance standards and organisational policies.
- Backup & Recovery: Design, implement, and regularly test robust backup and disaster recovery strategies to safeguard business-critical data.
- Team Leadership & Mentoring: Lead small-scale SAP Basis initiatives, coach junior consultants, and share expertise across the team.
- Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain accurate documentation for configurations, procedures, and system changes. Facilitate knowledge transfer to internal teams and end-users.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Provide clear, regular updates on progress, risks, and milestones.
What We’re Looking For
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline (equivalent experience will be considered).
- Demonstrated experience as a SAP Basis Consultant, with a strong command of SAP ECC, SAP HANA, and/or SAP S/4HANA.
- Deep technical expertise in SAP Basis administration, system architecture, performance optimisation, and SAP security.
- Proficiency with SAP NetWeaver, SAP Solution Manager, and HANA database administration.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to resolve high-impact technical issues quickly.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
- Solid project leadership experience, including the ability to plan, manage, and deliver complex SAP Basis projects.
- A collaborative mindset, with the ability to work both independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Fluent in English (written and verbal).
- Must hold a current AGSVA security clearance (applications without clearance cannot be considered).
