Randstad is currently partnering with several highly regarded public sector organisations to recruit for multiple Payroll Officer contract positions across Melbourne. These roles offer an immediate start and the opportunity to work within supportive and collaborative teams, with hybrid working options available in most positions.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-end payroll processing, including tax, superannuation, leave, and other entitlements
- Process new pay rates, back payments, and employee variations in accordance with relevant EBAs and awards
- Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and internal audit controls
- Respond to complex payroll queries and act as a point of escalation
- Assist with payroll reporting, reconciliations, and month-end processes
- Liaise with stakeholders across HR, Finance, and external providers
Requirements:
- Chris21 software experience (essential)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in payroll processing
- Prior exposure to public sector payroll (local or state government) and complex award environments highly regarded
- Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work under pressure
