      AO5 Planner and AO6 Senior Planner Roles Available Brisbane CBD Location Our client is an authority under the Queensland Government who develops and implements strategies, policies, and frameworks for infrastructure projects. Working as part of the Development Assessment team and utilising your specialist skills in land use planning, you will be involved in a variety of development assessment projects in a range of locations including greenfield localities, urban transformation sites and mixed-use projects within Priority Development Areas around Queensland. Duties:Critically analyse and evaluate development proposals against the relevant statutory instruments, including PDA development schemes, policies and guidelines within the framework.Identify issues, short-falls and/or opportunities within pre-lodgement application materials and development proposals to facilitate high-quality development.Utilise communication skills to clearly articulate issues in a development assessment framework and use negotiation skills to resolve those issues.Work as part of a multi-discipline team, taking the lead in timeframe management, coordinating responses and if required, resolving diverging or conflicting advice.Prepare well-written interpretations, briefings, presentations, development assessment reports, recommendations and Decision Notices for development applications.Promote best practice economic, social and environmental outcomes.Provide advice about the interpretation of act and other relevant development related policyWork collaboratively with stakeholders, including local government professionals, state government referral agencies, technical experts, the development industry and the community.Work independently to manage a caseload of development applications and achieve timely assessment within the act. Skills & Experience:Tertiary qualifications in land use planning or relevant work experience in a related fieldDevelopment assessment and /or statutory planning experience The client is also open to considering a Junior Planner with industry experience or a Para-Planner with plan sealing experience and no Town Planning degree qualification. It is expected that the successful candidate will possess strong oral/written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. They will display initiative, attention to detail, and have the ability to work autonomously and unsupervised whilst contributing to the wider team's objectives.
