This is an opportunity to lead people and contribute to the site's overall operations, profit and cost performance.
We will be open to applications from experienced managers in mining / materials manufacturers and high-risk safety environments.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the region Operations Manager your key duties will be as follows:
Safety and Environment: Lead the charge in promoting a culture where safety is prioritised above all else. You will be responsible for ensuring the site is compliant with all environmental obligations and relevant safety systems.
Operational Leadership: Oversee the day-to-day operations and provide expert knowledge to the production and maintenance teams to ensure the quarry operates at an optimal level. You will also develop and manage the annual operational budget, including sales strategies and targets.
Team and stakeholder Management: Lead a team of approximately 50 reports, with 9 direct reports. You will lead people processes like succession planning and mentoring and build positive relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and community groups.
Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the overall quarrying development plan to ensure the long-term sustainability of the quarry's infrastructure and resources.
Managed budget development and delivery, including controlling all expenditures and costs.
About You
We are looking for a candidate with at least eight years of experience in quarry management or operations, with demonstrated experience in a supervisory or management role.
You should have:
- A current and valid driver's license.
- A tertiary qualification in mining/civil/geology or a similar discipline is desired but not required.
- A state-applicable quarry manager license.
- A strong understanding of OHS statutory legislation.
- High-level interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
