Programs & Training Officer – Central Australia

We’re looking for a dedicated Programs & Training Officer to help deliver important water safety and lifesaving programs across Central Australia. If you enjoy working with the community, love training and teaching, and want to help improve water safety, this could be the perfect role for you.
...About the Role
- Deliver NT training courses including Resuscitation, Bronze Medallion updates, Swim Teacher Rescue Award, and Pool Lifesaving sessions in Alice Springs.
- Promote and facilitate the Water Safety Awareness Program (WSAP), including delivering Emergency Care Sessions.
- Conduct water safety talks and lifesaving promotions in schools and community events across Central Australia.
- Support and deliver the Indigenous Advancement Strategy (IAS) project and Inland Waterways Drowning Prevention (IWDP) project.
- Manage client interactions via phone, email, and in-person, including coordinating booking systems (Axcelerate).
- Maintain training equipment, resources, and ensure all materials are prepared and stored safely.
- Contribute to communications including social media, newsletters, and annual reports.
- Participate in team meetings, workshops, and contribute to continuous improvement and workplace health and safety initiatives.
- Travel to regional and remote communities as required to deliver programs and engage stakeholders.
What You Will Need
- Current First Aid, Bronze Medallion, and Pool Lifeguard qualifications (or ability to obtain).
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) (or willingness to obtain).
- AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety and Infant & Pre-school Aquatics qualifications (or ability to obtain).
- Strong organisational and reporting skills with attention to detail.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and online booking systems.
- Current NT Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel within Central Australia and remote areas.
- Knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and culture.
