The role
Our Federal Government client has identified the need for a non-ongoing APS3 level staff member to resource a new switchboard service intended to start in June 2025. The role will be dedicated to running a phone operator service to field and triage incoming calls from external customers.
The successful applicant will be required to operate as a sole agent operator telephone switch function.
Key Duties
- Respond to phone calls from the public during normal business hours
- Refer enquiries to the relevant business areas via service tickets
- Escalate enquiries as required
- Become proficient at operating the Genesys telephone service platform
Criteria
- Ability to provide a high level of customer service
- The ability to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction in an environment with high work volume, deadlines and competing priorities
- Ability to respond promptly to the needs of both external and internal customers
- Experience working in a call centre environment and good customer service skills over the phone
- Good verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
