Randstad is proud to be partnered with a Local Government organisation in Melbourne’s Northern suburbs to recruit an experienced People & Partnerships Business Partner for a 12-week contract. This role is essential in providing specialist advice and strategic support to leaders across a range of People and Culture functions.
About the Role This opportunity involves developing trusted partnerships with leaders to provide expert coaching and advice across the full spectrum of HR. You will play a key role in fostering a positive and productive organisational culture. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with outstanding communication skills and a proven ability to navigate complex employee relations matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide specialist advice to leaders on recruitment, performance management, change management, and employee relations.
- Coach and support managers in handling workplace conflicts, grievances, and other complex people matters in line with legislative requirements.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of strategic People & Culture initiatives, including policy development, employee engagement, and diversity and inclusion projects.
- Manage and participate in projects related to workforce strategy, succession planning, and organisational development.
- Provide advice on remuneration and benefits, utilising salary data and benchmarking to inform decisions.
- Support and promote a harmonious and productive organisational culture through effective consultation and stakeholder engagement.
About You
- Demonstrated ability to manage and participate in projects relating to the development, implementation, and review of major organisational HR policies, issues, and initiatives.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in the provision of clear, concise, accurate, and sensitive advice (both verbal and written) to senior management.
- Strong understanding of strategic HRM processes, systems, and techniques required to support an organisation's business objectives.
- Experience in a similar advisory role within a complex, unionised environment (Local Government or Public Sector experience is highly desirable).
- Comfortable working in a hybrid environment, with flexibility for increased onsite presence as required.
