About the Role:
Reporting to the HR Manager, you will be a key member of the Human Resources team, responsible for the accurate and timely end-to-end processing of fortnightly payroll. In this vital role, you will manage all payroll-related data, maintain employee records, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation and policies. You will be joining an agile and innovative team that embraces change and resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Successfully manage the end-to-end fortnightly payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Play a key role in payroll processing, including data entry, verification, and reporting using Chris21.
- Maintain and update the payroll system, including new employee setups and changes for current staff.
- Advise management and staff on the interpretation of Awards, the EBA, legislation, and superannuation matters.
- Produce and manage various payroll reports, including those for excessive leave and rostered days off.
- Process terminations, salary adjustments, and other employee changes.
- Ensure compliance with audit requirements and ATO Single Touch Payroll.
- Conduct end-of-financial-year activities and reconciliations.
- Liaise with the salary packaging provider regarding changes and new starters.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Expert knowledge of the Chris21 payroll system is a mandatory requirement for this role.
- Prior experience in an end-to-end payroll role.
- Sound understanding and experience in interpreting Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
- Knowledge of taxation, superannuation legislation, and ATO compliance requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of employees.
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, work autonomously, and meet deadlines.
