... About Your New Role
As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in enhancing the well-being and independence of their clients. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients with varying care needs, from short-term involvement to complex, long-term requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting a range of assessments such as Sensory Profile, Functional Assessments, Cognitive Functional Assessments, and Multi-disciplinary Assessments (e.g., FASD, Motor Skills Assessment, Housing and Support Needs Assessments).
- Developing comprehensive reports based on your assessments.
- Collaborating with individuals, families, and carers to establish Occupational Therapy goals.
- Creating tailored intervention plans to address identified needs.
- Providing Occupational Therapy support across various settings, including homes, communities, schools, clinics, and through telehealth when appropriate.
- Developing individualized resources and implementing effective strategies to support clients.
- Delivering training sessions for parents, carers, and support workers as needed.
- Participating in Care Team Meetings and offering OT-specific input to ensure holistic client care.
What You Will Need
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy.(desired but not essential)
- Current registration with the relevant professional association.
- Proven experience in conducting assessments and developing intervention plans.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and stakeholders.
- Flexibility to work in various settings and utilize telehealth resources.
- A commitment to delivering person-centered care and promoting independence and well-being.
- A current Ochre Card, NDIS Worker Screener Clearance, Criminal History Check, First Aid Certificate, and an Australian Driver's License.
