Essential Skills and Experience
- Programming: Proficient programming skills in either R or Python for data manipulation and analysis.
- Data Languages: Proficient SQL or SAS programming skills are essential.
- Data Analytics: Experience with data analytics is required, with a preference for experience supporting government policy development and some exposure to government processes like budget and legislation.
- Reporting & Analysis: Reporting, analysis, and data management activities. This includes extracting and preparing data from multiple sources, especially the data warehouse, and advising on data checks.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary to update staff and management on work progress and outcomes.
- Reporting & Visualisation: Preparing charts, tables, and commentary for various reports and board papers.
- Modelling: Utilising statistical and mathematical modelling techniques for analytical tasks. This involves running Scheme projection models and conducting data tabulations.
- Statutory Support: Support the division in fulfilling statutory requirements, including providing data and analysis for reporting to the Board and Minister.
