This division within the Queensland Government, is currently undertaking a significant business transformation. With a vast portfolio of projects and assets valued at over $40 billion, the division is focused on uplifting its business maturity to meet growing demands. The team are seeking a proactive and adaptable Change Manager to join their team and play a pivotal role in driving the adoption of new ways of working.
You will be a key player in a collaborative environment, working closely with project managers, SMEs, and stakeholders to deliver effective change outcomes.
About the Role
Reporting to the Change Lead, the Change Manager will be responsible for a specific project stream and will operate with a high degree of autonomy and influence. The role's focus will be on:
- Strategic Planning: Developing comprehensive change management strategies and detailed plans that align with the organisation's overarching goals, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring readiness for change.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Building strong, trusted relationships with key stakeholder groups and acting as a trusted advisor to manage feedback, capture concerns, and address resistance with a people-first mindset.
- Communication & Training: Designing and delivering engaging communications to foster awareness and ownership, and collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) to plan and deliver training and capability uplift activities.
- Implementation & Evaluation: Actively monitoring the rollout of change initiatives to ensure adoption, adjusting strategies in response to feedback and changing conditions, and using metrics and KPIs to measure success and gather feedback.
- Resistance Management: Proactively identifying sources of resistance to change and developing targeted strategies and interventions to address and overcome challenges, while providing guidance to leaders and teams.
About You
You are a strategic thinker with a growth mindset, dedicated to continuous improvement and not afraid to undertake operational duties. You will thrive in complex, evolving environments and possess strong influencing and relationship-building skills. To be successful, you will have:
- Proven experience in planning and delivering change initiatives within complex stakeholder environments.
- The ability to operate effectively with a project at an early stage or evolving change environments.
- Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex ideas.
- A positive, proactive, and adaptable approach to their work.
