We are recruiting for an energetic and hands-on Construction Manager to lead a number high-voltage (HV) and extra-high-voltage (EHV) switchyard projects across Tasmania. This is a great opportunity to be involved in shaping the state's energy landscape, managing projects up to 220kV in both greenfield and brownfield environments.
You will take full ownership of all project phases, from the initial civil works to the final commissioning. We're looking for a proven leader who ensures a high level of execution and attention to detail.
An attractive salary, including a company will be offered to the successful candidate, as well as relocation assistance, should you be moving to Hobart from Interstate.
About the role
- Lead Project Delivery: Manage all aspects of construction, including civil, structural, primary, secondary, and commissioning works.
- Drive Excellence: Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and on budget, exceeding client expectations.
- Manage the Full Lifecycle: Oversee all phases of construction in both new and existing environments.
- Be a Problem Solver: Proactively identify and mitigate risks, ensuring seamless project execution.
About you
- A Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or a Bachelor Degree in Construction Management
- A Minimum of 5 years proven experience as a Construction Manager on HV or EHV projects, specifically up to 220kV.
- A comprehensive understanding of switchyard and substation construction, from civil foundations to final commissioning.
- Experience in both greenfield (new build) and brownfield (redevelopment/upgrade) environments.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- A commitment to safety and quality above all else.
