Randstad are currently working with a public sector client to find a Data and AI Technical Specialist for an initial 2 month contract with likely extension. This is a remote role but the candidate must be based in Queensland, Australia. The preferred location is Sunshine Coast however this is not a requirement.

Pay Rate: $950 a day including super

Key Duties:

Understand, interpret, and implement architectural plans and implementation for future data storage, reporting, and analytic solutions, leveraging Microsoft's suite of products, including the utilization of event streaming, data lake/lakehouse/EDW, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Notebooks, Azure Data Factory (ADF), Microsoft Purview, and API management.
Evaluate and recommend new tools, technologies, and frameworks, such as Spark, CI/CD, and experience in using Code Management systems and DevOps automation, to improve the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of data engineering solutions.
Strong technical skills in data engineering, data integration, and data architecture, with experience in data modelling, data warehousing, ETL, and data pipeline development.
Expertise in SQL and programming languages such as Python or R, with excellent knowledge of one or more data-centric languages/tools.
Monitor and troubleshoot operational or data issues in the data pipelines, ensuring their reliability and availability.
Conduct performance tuning and optimisation of data processing and data storage systems.
Provide technical support and troubleshooting for data engineering solutions.

Testing-related activities corresponding to Data engineering responsibilities.
