Randstad Digital are currently working with a Queensland Government department to find a Data Engineer to join a delivery focused project team. This is for an initial 12 month contract, based in Brisbane’s CBD. You'll design and implement best-practice data solutions, focusing on data modelling, architecture, scalability, security, and pipeline integrity. Collaborate with the Data and Analytics team to align with reporting goals and shape data management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain data pipelines using Microsoft Fabric in hybrid cloud.
- Manage data with PySpark, PySQL, and .delta in Fabric Lakehouses.
- Use advanced SQL for database optimisation.
- Monitor and troubleshoot pipelines.
- Collaborate on data solutions.
- Support data solution transitions to BAU.
- Implement data quality measures.
- Prepare data for analytics and ML.
- Identify data analysis improvements.
- Work with the Data and Analytics team.
- Contribute to data management practices.
- Create technical documentation.
- Support DevOps (CI/CD).
- Understand Data Modeling.
Necessary Skills:
- 3+ years data engineering experience (Azure Synapse, pipelines, data lakes, SQL).
- Experience designing scalable data solutions in hybrid cloud.
- Proficient in Azure data pipeline tools.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Familiarity with data prep for analytics/ML.
- Knowledge of data quality management.
- Azure Data Engineer Associate (desirable).
