A leading private lending firm is seeking a driven and experienced Business Development Manager to join its growing team. This is a high-impact role where you will play a key part in driving loan origination, building strategic relationships, and contributing to the ongoing success of a well-established business.
About the Role
As the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for sourcing and managing new lending opportunities, maintaining a strong pipeline, and achieving a monthly loan origination target of $5 million. You’ll be the face of the business, building trust with brokers, accountants, solictors, referral partners, and clients across the private lending landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and originate new loan opportunities within the private lending market
Achieve or exceed monthly loan origination targets of $5 million
Conduct a minimum of 10 face-to-face meetings and 10 follow-up calls per week
Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers, clients, and referral partners
Schedule and manage meetings in informal and professional settings
Maintain an organised pipeline using CRM systems, and report regularly to leadership
Ensure compliance with internal policies and industry regulations
Collaborate with legal and operations teams to prepare accurate loan documentation
Stay informed on market trends and competitor activity
Support other areas of the business, including admin, recoveries, and ad hoc projects
Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth loan processing and client onboarding
About You
Proven experience in business development or lending (private or non-bank lending preferred)
Strong relationship management and networking skills
Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal abilities
Goal-oriented, self-motivated, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
CRM and pipeline management experience
Sound understanding of the lending process and financial products
