About the Role:
Randstad are seeking a skilled and innovative AV Systems Engineer on a contract basis to support the design, implementation, and maintenance of advanced audiovisual systems across a range of large-scale properties. The successful candidate will be a key player in delivering high-quality AV experiences for guests and stakeholders, with a focus on public address and voice alarm (PA/VA) systems, background music (BGM), and theatre-grade AV design.
This role requires a professional who is not only technically proficient but also adept at coordinating with various teams and stakeholders to ensure project success.
The ideal candidate will have a proven background in the casino, hospitality, or entertainment and events industries.
Key Responsibilities:
... Design & Engineering: Develop detailed AV system designs, including schematics and equipment specifications. Engineer PA/VA systems in compliance with relevant standards such as AS 1670.4 and ISO 7240-19. Contribute to theatre AV design, including stage audio and acoustic modeling.
Project Delivery: Oversee AV installations, commissioning, and testing phases. Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely project delivery.
System Integration & Support: Integrate AV systems with control platforms and network infrastructure. Provide Tier 1/2 support, troubleshooting, and resolving complex issues.
Qualifications & Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, AV Technology, or a related field is required.
You must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in AV systems design and engineering, preferably in hospitality or entertainment environments.
Proven experience with PA/VA systems compliant with Australian and international standards, as well as BGM and theatre AV design, is essential.
Strong knowledge of AV technologies, including video conferencing, digital signage, and control systems (e.g., Crestron, AMX), is a must.
Proficiency with design software such as AutoCAD and Visio is required.
Certifications:
Highly Desirable: CTS or CTS-D certification from AVIXA.
Essential: Knowlodge of AS 1670.4 / ISO 7240-19 compliance for PA/VA design.
Desirable: Crestron/AMX/Dante AV programming certification.
