The role
This role will support the development of evaluation plans and support across key Agency programs. This may include but not be limited to identification and articulation of the impacts, effects and value of the program, to deliver against the requirements of further comebacks to government, which involves significant interaction with key internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Supports and promotes the delivery of a strategic work program through coordination, briefing, evaluation, research and stakeholder engagement.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to lead and deliver projects, whilst supporting others to deliver outcomes through the provision of guidance, quality assurance and technical expertise, including advice to governance boards.
- Prepare a range of high quality written materials including advice and analysis on key projects or policy, strategic documents, reviews and reports, presentations and/or minutes.
- Provide visibility and strategic oversight of policy, legislative and regulatory change impacting the Agency.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Use judgement to appropriately escalate complex matters to the Assistant Director/ Director.
- Contribute to establishing and maintaining a positive culture across the section.
Role Requirements:
- Strategic thinking skills, including ability to maintain and apply awareness of local and global developments, current affairs and policy development and evaluate environmental factors.
- Ability to write and communicate verbally with a variety of audiences and to target communication effectively.
- Ability to undertake research and analysis on multiple issues and provide expertise and advice to colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex information and provide advice and understand the provision of advice.
- Strong ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- High-level stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to work with staff of all levels whilst building and maintaining strong working relationships across business areas.
- Strong understanding or ability to acquire knowledge of the Agency and its operational environment.
- Experience in and knowledge of Cabinet and budget processes is highly desirable.
Ideally you will hold a minimum Baseline security clearance (preferred) or willingness to obtain. Canberra is the preferred location however other locations may be considered.
Salary will be based on the Agency's enterprise agreement at the time of onboarding.
APS6: $94k - $107k + 15.4% superannuation
