About the Role:
Make a Meaningful Impact in Mental Health Reform. Join a passionate team driving national mental health and suicide prevention initiatives. In this role, you’ll lead and support high-impact data and reporting projects that shape major policy decisions and improve outcomes for people across Australia. Collaborate closely with internal teams and state and territory partners to turn data into real-world change.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver data and analytics projects to support policy and program decisions
- Analyse and interpret data from a range of internal and external sources
- Translate complex findings into accessible, actionable insights through reports, briefings, and dashboards
- Collaborate with program areas, data custodians, and jurisdictions under the National Mental Health and Suicide Prevention Agreement
- Monitor program performance and contribute to national evaluation frameworks
- Prepare and quality-check written materials for executive and ministerial audiences
- Respond to ad hoc requests for data and insights from senior leadership
- Share technical expertise with team members and help build analytical capability
- Develop and use visualisation tools to communicate outcomes effectively
What You’ll Bring
- Experience working with health-related data.
- Proficiency in data analysis, interpretation, and communication
- Strong writing skills, including the ability to present technical content clearly to various audiences
- Capacity to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with SQL, R, Python or similar
- Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or equivalent visualisation tools
Understanding of evaluation frameworks and government reporting
