Position Overview
The APS6 Communications and Campaign Officer is responsible for delivering strategic, high-quality communications and campaign activities that support the organisation’s objectives and enhance stakeholder engagement. Working under limited direction, the role involves the development, implementation and evaluation of targeted communication products and strategies, with a strong focus on behavioural change and audience engagement.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
Write, edit, and manage the production of internal and external communications, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities and messaging.
Use expert knowledge of digital communication and social media to manage social media platforms, including content development, moderation, and addressing public queries and emerging issues.
Collaborate with internal subject matter experts to maintain and update campaign websites, including creating, modifying, or archiving content in line with campaign needs.
Monitor and evaluate the performance of communications and campaign activities by gathering and analysing data, and measuring impact against communication and behavioural objectives.
Liaise with external providers such as creative agencies, media buyers, and research firms to support campaign delivery.
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, including industry representatives and operational teams, to ensure the successful delivery of campaign and communication outcomes.

The ideal candidate will:
Demonstrate the ability to work under limited direction to deliver and evaluate public information, marketing, or behavioural change campaigns in a government or regulated environment.
Display a strong commitment to promoting workplace values including safety, equity, diversity, and participative management in accordance with APS values and CASA’s organisational behaviours.
Engage respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to achieve inclusive and culturally appropriate communication outcomes.
Maintain an understanding of current and emerging issues related to aviation safety and CASA’s regulatory and stakeholder environment.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related discipline.
Relevant experience in the development and delivery of communication campaigns in a public sector or regulatory environment.
