About the Role:
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the successful candidate will provide advice and direction to stakeholders and management on a range of financial management activities. This includes analysis, interpretation, and recommendations on monthly operational performance, budget development, forecasting, and financial compliance. As a senior member of the Finance and Business Operations Team, you will also provide advice and support on best practices, policies, and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly reports, applying continuous improvement principles to reporting, processes, and systems.
- Analyse monthly data to provide insights, identify issues, develop solutions, and offer expert advice to budget managers.
- Coordinate and lead the delivery of the annual financial management compliance certification.
- Provide ongoing budget and cash flow forecasts to ensure optimal allocation of resources.
- Undertake monthly and ad-hoc reporting to the Department of Transport and Planning and other key stakeholders.
- Effectively communicate, negotiate, and build strong relationships with a range of key internal and external stakeholders.
Skills & Experience Required:
Qualification in Accounting, Business, Economics, or related fields.
Extensive experience in financial forecasting, reporting, and analysis.
- VPS experience is preferred.
Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills for partnering with stakeholders.
Experience in process writing and a commitment to innovation and continuous improvement.
CPA/CA preferred.
Competency in the use of Excel and financial management software like Oracle Financials is desirable.
