Randstad are currently seeking a Technical Officer – Central Stores to backfill a key staff member during their long service leave for an initial 3 month assignment. This role plays a pivotal part in maintaining operational excellence within our technical stores, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and the safe, effective support of laboratory and workspace functions.

Maintain inventory using inventory/warehouse management software
Manage chemical storage, handling, and safety documentation
Provide expert advice and support for STEM teaching and research activities
Coordinate procurement and purchase orders in accordance with institutional procedures
Ensure workspaces operate within OH&S and compliance frameworks
Deliver excellent customer service to academic and professional staff
About You:
- Experience in a scientific or technical store, lab or warehouse environment
- Skilled in inventory systems and documentation, including chemical handling
- Strong understanding of OH&S regulations relevant to laboratory and warehouse settings
- High attention to detail, with strong organisational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Commitment to workplace diversity and zero tolerance to harassment or discrimination
