Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement solutions for customer and operational information systems, ensuring seamless integration of IT and Operational Technology (OT) systems.
- Support the integration of intercity services into existing operations, addressing unique challenges in providing real-time information to customers and staff.
- Collaborate with IT and OT teams to ensure system functionality aligns with strategic goals, considering impacts on systems, people, and operations.
Essential Requirements:
- At least 8 years' experience in Solution Design and successful implementation of complex business solutions within a large, enterprise IT environment, with a strong emphasis on heavy rail or transport sectors involving maintenance and operational systems.
- Demonstrated experience in heavy rail maintenance, real-time customer information systems, and end-to-end solution architecture, including both IT and OT infrastructure (e.g., SCADA, GIS, asset management).
- Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS preferred, Azure knowledge beneficial due to legacy systems), system integration (e.g., Kafka, enterprise integration patterns), and modern coding practices (e.g., Java) alongside familiarity with legacy systems (e.g., C++ on Windows servers).
- Comprehensive skills in architecture frameworks, formal SDLC, and application development methodologies.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience in transport or heavy rail projects, particularly those involving customer or operational information systems, system uplifts, and migrations.
- Maturity and strategic thinking to address complex, non-standard problems holistically, considering long-term impacts.
- Ability to work independently on high-stakes projects, showcasing decision-making, problem-solving, and cross-team collaboration.
- Familiarity with governance leadership, RFP development, and vendor engagement in regulated environments.
