Deliverables:
The Solution Architect will be:
- Performing duties as the second in-charge of the team.
- Supporting the Chief Architect with stakeholder meetings, and engineering reviews.
- Working closely with other disciplines within the delivery team to deliver the activities, and ensuring alignment to the overall architecture.
- Engaging with the Operations Team to understand the tactical & strategic objectives as well as requirements.
- Creating architectural governance processes and ensuring solutions comply with requirements and industry standards.
- Developing architectural blueprints, technical documentation and diagrams.
- Working directly with the delivery teams to provide expertise and guidance around architecture to deliver business outcomes.
- Collaborating closely with the Operations Team to understand current systems (inc. gaps and limitations), technology stacks, and integration opportunities, ensuring compatibility and scalability.
- Contributing to the schedule and risks meetings.
- Providing expert input into the ICT Architecture, including roadmaps, patterns, frameworks and architecture artefacts.
Essential:
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Solution Architect.
- Minimum 2 years experience contributing to the successful outcome of ICT projects within a Federal Government environment.
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing a team.
- Demonstrated experience defining ICT solutions aligned with future-state architecture.
- Demonstrated experience delivering detailed designs to a high standard.
- Demonstrated experience solving complex problems.
- Demonstrated experience working within a high-functioning ICT Team.
Desirable:
- Experience with Zero Trust Architecture.
- Skilled and effective communicator, both spoken and written with the ability to convey complex ideas to wide audience of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work in a team environment, participate in project meetings and engage with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Expertise in system integration, databases and network design.
- Strong understanding of security and compliance frameworks (e.g ISO 27001 etc)
- Effective planner with efficient time management skills.
- Completed relevant architecture framework qualifications – SABSA, TOGAF, Zachman or equivalent.
- Familiarity with SDN, SD-WAN, Firewalls and enterprise networking such as Cisco, Juniper.
- Experience with automation and script (Python, Ansible, etc)
- Background in agile and waterfall project management methodologies;
- Ability to mentor and guide technical staff.
