Responsibilities
- Leading Solution Design: Spearhead the architectural development of solutions that underpin our digital strategy.
- Driving Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, business partners, and technical teams spanning infrastructure, applications, and cybersecurity to ensure seamless integration.
- Ensuring Quality & Standards: Uphold consistency and elevate solution delivery quality through rigorous architecture reviews and adherence to established standards.
- Fostering Growth: Cultivate a collaborative and innovative team environment, actively mentoring other Solution Architects to build collective capability.
- Leveraging External Expertise: Engage with external vendors and industry leaders to incorporate best practices and emerging trends into our solutions.
- Shaping Strategy: Contribute significantly to the overall enterprise architecture strategy.
- Building Community: Lead and grow a community of practice for Solution Architects, promoting knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
Experience & Skillset
To excel in this role, you'll possess:
- Postgraduate qualifications or equivalent practical experience in Information Technology or a related discipline.
- Proven expertise in business process re-engineering and a deep understanding of the System Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- A robust background in solution architecture, demonstrating the ability to expertly navigate and provide guidance within complex IT environments.
- Exceptional leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skills, capable of influencing outcomes and fostering strong relationships.
- A forward-looking mindset, with a natural inclination to explore and apply emerging technologies to achieve inclusive, strategic objectives.
- Experience working within a higher education sector or institutions that combine vocational and academic learning.
- A keen awareness of global IT trends impacting higher education.
