About the Role
The following tasks and required skills to achieve them for the duration of this engagement are:
- Assist with maintaining and enhancing digital repositories related to land combat system specifications and standards.
- Support the upkeep and functionality of compliance tools used to assess data model conformance.
- Draft and update detailed technical documentation including software specifications and interface definitions.
- Participate in the ongoing evolution and development of technical standards relevant to land combat systems.
- Contribute to managing and reviewing standards both within the organisation and those interfacing with external Defence entities.
- Provide technical guidance to Defence stakeholders regarding the implementation of software and system standards.
- Offer subject matter expertise to Defence projects across acquisition and sustainment phases, ensuring adherence to standards.
- Assist with the design and review of test procedures to verify compliance with defined standards.
- Carry out additional software development and engineering tasks as directed by the appropriate Defence leadership.
- Deliver other services as needed under the direction of the relevant Defence executive group.
About You
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in software engineering, working across several programming languages, with a focus on C++.
- Practical knowledge of network-based programming, including familiarity with middleware solutions such as OMG DDS and low-level networking using BSD sockets.
- Demonstrated experience working within Defence projects, particularly in producing technical documentation aligned with Defence standards.
- Understanding of systems engineering practices within Defence contexts and the ability to apply them in software development tasks.
